- For the 4th floor night staff. My father was on 412 in March.
- Please leave half of this for nights. They never get anything.
- Fourteen months without a weekend. I see it, even from here.
- You're doing the hardest job in the family and nobody voted on it.
- No advice about taking care of yourself in this card. Just thank you.
- For the whole unit. You were kind to my mother when she was frightened.
- Thank you for explaining it twice without making me feel stupid.
- Thank you for the 3am on the 9th. I don't know your last name and I remember your face.
- For the hospice team. You made two weeks bearable for all of us.
- You've been at this since spring. Somebody outside the house should say so.
- I know the paperwork is worse than the caregiving. Thank you for both.
- For the break room. Eat it standing up, which I understand is the custom.
If you only remember one thing
Short and specific beats long and general. “I still think about you driving me to the airport at five in the morning” does more work than three sentences of sympathy, because only you could have written it.
