What to write in a client thank you card

12 lines you can use as they are. Change a word so it sounds like you — a borrowed sentence in your own handwriting still reads as yours.

  • Thank you for the referral to Hargrove. That call changed our quarter.
  • For the team. You made the March deadline survivable.
  • You picked up the phone at 9pm on a Sunday. That isn't standard.
  • Nothing to sign. Thank you for a good year of work.
  • Sending this in January on purpose, so it isn't competing with everyone else's December.
  • Three years now. Thank you for the renewal and for the honesty in the review.
  • You told us what was wrong before it got expensive. Thank you for that.
  • For the whole floor, not only you. Please put it in the kitchen.
  • Glad to be working on this one. Here's to the next phase.
  • Thank you for defending the timeline internally. We know that cost you something.
  • No agenda. Just a good project.
  • You've been a straightforward client for four years, which is rarer than you'd think.

If you only remember one thing

Short and specific beats long and general. “I still think about you driving me to the airport at five in the morning” does more work than three sentences of sympathy, because only you could have written it.
